After graduating the University of Auckland with a MCom (Hons), I worked for a large Multi-National firm as a Management Consultant. After a time I became dissatisfied with the corporate environment and decided to pursue my long held passion for running my own business.

After looking around at several opportunities I purchased a gourmet burger franchise and set up a store in Hamilton, New Zealand. Like so many business owners after the initial excitement wore off I became, overworked, stressed out and generally disillusioned with our business. I was working every hour under the sun, not making enough money to compensate for the hours and seeing very little of my young family.

As often happens in life I had a moment. I remember after one particularly frustrating 16 hour day I arrived home and said to my wife there has to be a better way and I am going to find it. So after trying several different things I eventually put the business under management, grew the sales by over 100% and sold it at a good profit.

Since then my life’s work and passion is to help other business owners and business people create a business that works for them. Life is way too short to grind it out day after day and to miss to freedom and joy that a great business can give you.

We find there are two problems business owners face.

1. They are not making enough money because they don’t understand how to get and retain profitable customers.

2. Or if they are profitable it’s a complete nightmare in terms of the systems and delivering the same high quality product or service without working yourself into an early grave.

We know that there are simple, proven strategies to answer these questions and we feel compelled to share these with our fellow business people.
